MINISTER of Culture, Arts and Heritage HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al Kuwari honoured last night a number of youths who took part in the Summer Activity 2011. The closing ceremony, held at the Abu Bakr Independent School, coincided with the United Nations International Youth Day. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, “Marking the International Youth Day, which coincided with the ministry’s celebrations of the summer activities this year, reflects the leadership of Qatar’s commitment towards youth activities and opinions by engaging them in all sectors in the state.” The minister noted that the summer activity this year was diverse, unique and fruitful, adding that the artistic, cultural, religious and sports activities of the youths were the result of that excellence and creativity. The minister commented on the efforts exerted by the Youth Activities and Events Department and the principals of all schools that took part in the summer activities. He also thanked the students who were the main reason for making this cultural season a success.
