The embassy of Japan here has announced that the Japanese Government is offering two scholarships to Qatari students to study in Japan. Undergraduate student courses will take five years beginning April 2011 through to March 2016, including one year preparatory education in the Japanese language, while those majoring in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine will take seven years. There are two options for students wishing to do research; 24 months commencing April 2011 to March 2013 and 18 months starting from October 2011 to March 2013. This will include a six-month Japanese language training for grantees who require such training. Two Qatari students, Hamad Saleh Al Nesef and. Shaheen Al Ghanim, are currently studying in a university in Japan on Japanese Government scholarships. The deadline for application is June 10.
