Innovation takes center stage at Qatar Motor Show

True to its promise of being the most innovative edition to date, Qatar Motor Show 2017 is bringing the latest hybrid and tech-advanced vehicles that are paving the way of the future of the automotive industry.

Stylish, efficient and technologically advanced cars graced the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) and will continue to do so until the 22nd of April. Exhibiting automotive brands include BAIC, BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Genesis, Harley Davidson, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati, Maxus, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ram, and Toyota. Exhibitors also include Auto Magic, Commercial Bank of Qatar, Gulf Warranties, Nesu, Qatar Insurance Company, and Titanium, Q3 Smart Solutions and Tazweed.

Some of the most innovative car reveals include RAM’s RAM 1500 Limited a splendid new range for fans of trucks, Genesis’ G90, featuring the most comprehensive array of standard safety technology in the premium luxury class including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection, Driver Attention Alert (DAA) and Smart Blind Spot Detection. Hyundai’s Ioniq is the car maker’s first dedicated hybrid and full-electric model and the first car from any manufacturer to be offered with three electric powertrain options within a single body type.

Toyota’s KIKAI provides an innovative form where the machinery, normally hidden beneath the vehicle body, becomes an open display of the car’s beauty. Lexus showcased the Hybrid Range, the Lexus F and the LC500, a model that redefines the luxury sports coupe segment, and is the latest representation of Lexus’ evolution in both emotional styling and dynamic driving. Chevrolet’s Camaro Zl1 which has an optional 10-speed automatic transmission. Lincoln’s Lincoln Continental which has a 360-degree camera that allows drivers to manoeuvre in low-speed situations with a complete view of their surroundings. Their MKZ has the latest voice-activated technology and can understand voice commands.

Baic’s X65 is the first urban SUV based on SAAB technologies and combines superior performance, smart configuration and fashionable design. Land Rover’s All New Discovery’s 10” HD touchscreen display is fitted to HSE and HSE Luxury models, enables fast, sleek and direct connectivity and information. Jaguar’s F-PACE lineup and discover your perfect combinations of performance, style and practicality. Maserati Quattroporte GTS has remarkable power, luxury and finesse. Maxus’s G10 Luxury has a wheelchair application in passenger vehicle. Mitsubishi’s Montero Sport has a totally redesigned front fascia showcasing Mitsubishi's 'Dynamic Shield' grille which is the benchmark of their future models. Last but not least, Mercedes benz’s E-class engine squeezes more power from less fuel, atomizing and itemizing every drop.

In addition to that, a Super Car sponsored by the Commercial Bank of Qatar is in display at the show. The car is a brand new Lotus Evora 410 and is currently being displayed in the region for the first time since its European reveal last month, a testament to Qatar Motor Show’s premium position in the region. The Super Car showcases impressive features including a max speed of 285 km/h, a max power of 410 hp at 7000 rpm and a kerb weight of 1,336 kg. The car’s front and rear have a fully independent suspension, forged aluminium double wishbone suspension, anti-roll bar, Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers. It offers a Lotus tuned hydraulically assisted steering and driver selectable ESP modes - Drive/Sport/Race.

Additionally, The Fittipaldi EF7 VGT by Pininfarina is at Qatar Motor Show 2017. The ultra-light, all carbon fiber supercar, displayed and launched at the Qatar Motor Show also thanks to the NBK Group, fuses the vision of F1 and Indy Car racing champion Fittipaldi, iconic Italian design company Pininfarina and race-bred German engineering firm HWA AG, and fulfills Fittipaldi’s dream to produce a car with fierce track-racing capabilities, for drivers of all skill levels. Cars and Karak will be shedding light on a Qatari talent. Tariq Al Musa, who spent time creating a unique customized car using pieces from all over the world.

The show is hosting a number of thrilling activities for car enthusiast in town. The fan zone of the Qatar Motor Show is packed with activities and parades set to engage automotive fans with a unique experience. Mawater, the strategic partner of the Qatar Motor Show is hosting daily parades. The gathering point will be located at Doha Corniche. At 4:30 pm the parade will start and the end point will be at the VIP parking in front of DECC. The parades include sedan classic cards parade on the 19th of April, a sport muscle cars parade on the 20th of April, a GCC mixed classics on the 21st of April and a pick-up classic trucks parade on the last day of the show, the 22nd of April.

In addition, a classical car exhibition is running in parallel with the days of the show featuring some of the most distinct classical cars from the private collections of the Sheikh Faisal Museum and Al Fardan, and Mawater.
