House rentals in the country are showing signs of easing thanks to a law which was enacted early last year to curb excessive increase in rents. Apartment rental rates range on average from QR6,500 to QR8,000 per month in older residential districts of Doha, says a report released by Asteco on the property market in Qatar and Bahrain for the last quarter of 2008. Villas located in the more popular areas of Doha like Al Dafna, Al Rawdah, Al Hilal, Abu Hamour and Ain Khalid recorded average monthly rental rates ranging from QR14,000 to QR18,000, while apartments and villas in West Bay and West Bay Lagoon continue to command highest rental rates.
