Mall of Qatar

Head west on the Dukhan Highway, about 10 minutes outside of Al Rayyan, and look to the right a kilometre or two past the Amiri Guard compound. Rising from the flat expanse of what was once a desert construction zone is the gargantuan superstructure of The Mall of Qatar (MOQ).

After years of development and a final price-tag of QR 5.4 billion, the mall welcomed its first crowds on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in a soft opening launch that drew hundreds of consumers to the country’s newest and largest shopping destination.

Dukkan

Featuring more than 80 new brands making their first appearance in Qatar, such as Cheesecake Factory, Pottery Barn, and Lefties – a discount brand outlet of apparel giant Zara. Opening hours are 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m. Saturday to Wednesday, and 10:00 a.m. till midnight on Thursday and Friday.

Billed as a hub for family entertainment and live performances, MOQ is boasting 52 upcoming weeks of shows and attractions which will take centre-stage in the central showcase of the food court’s gigantic domed Oasis. There’s also an Xtreme Land amusement zone, and a KidzMondo world which is slated to open in the next month.

Novo

While over at the 19-screen Novo Cinema, which features its own bowling alley, movie-goers eager for a seven-star theatre experience can enjoy a business-class level of service from the comfort of their cinema seat in a unique partnership with Qatar Airways.

Parking is free at MOQ, with a tunnel connecting the mall’s vast underground parking lot directly with the Dukhan Highway, and anticipated upcoming Qatar Rail metro station access.
