Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, was awarded the French National Order of the Legion of Honor with the rank of Commander at the headquarters of the French Ministry of Interior in Paris, France.

This award is considered one of the highest national honours bestowed by the French Republic and is in recognition of his efforts in enhancing cooperation in the security field between the State of Qatar and the French Republic.

French Minister of Interior and Overseas Territories, H.E. Gerald Darmanin, awarded the honour upon H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on behalf of the H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, during an official ceremony attended by several senior officials and delegates from both French and Qatari sides.

H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the French Republic for bestowing upon him the honour, which represents the strong relations between Qatar and France, wishing further development and progress for both countries and a fruitful future.
