Doha • A criminal court recently heard a case of pickpocketing involving a woman. The woman was accused of targeting men at crowded places. The court was headed by Judge Mamoun Hamour, Al Sharq reported yesterday. A witness from the capital police told the court that the police received around 15 complaints of pickpocketing. The incidents took place in and around Bin Omran Area. The police arrested three women, who entered the country on tourist visas, but were actually involved in begging. One complainant told the court that while he was standing near the Sofitel Hotel, the accused approached him and offered to help him find an address he was looking for saying she knew the place well. He added that she accompanied him to an elevator of a building and later found that QR7,000 was stolen from his wallet. She pressed the button and ran away.
