The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), on 1 October 2023 announced on the social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), the death of a student in a traffic accident that occurred in front of a private kindergarten.

تنعى وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي وفاة طالب في حادث سير وقع أمام إحدى رياض الأطفال الخاصة، وتتقدم بخالص المواساة لأسرة الطالب الفقيد.
وستقوم الوزارة بالتعاون مع الجهات المختصة باتخاذ الإجراء اللازم بعد صدور نتائج التحقيق.
هذا وتؤكد الوزارة حرصها على الالتزام بتطبيق…

The ministry mourned the death of the student and extended its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased student. The ministry also announced that it will take the necessary action after the investigation results are issued in cooperation with the competent authorities.

Users of the social media platform also extended their condolences and called for stricter action.

One user mentioned,

The road is full of drivers who do not adhere to traffic rules, especially in kindergartens and schools of all kinds, violating traffic rules, speeding, lack of caution, recklessness, and negligence. This is extremely important.

Another user said,

Yes, I have been seeing this for a long time, in front of the school, without organization, chaos, crowding, and without sidewalks, and children walking in the middle of cars, sometimes young children so that they do not build in the middle of cars, I do not know how this is done!? I remember that I spoke with the primary school administration, and she mentioned to me that she was very concerned about that situation and that they were waiting for the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures in terms of planning, organizing, and so on...
