In an atmosphere filled with national pride and loyalty, the Organising Committee of Qatar National Day 2018 celebrations in collaboration with partners and concerned parties has completed preparations at the Doha Corniche where the parade and march will take place today.

The Organising Committee is keen to create an atmosphere of delight at the Corniche area on this national occasion in order to ensure that the festivities take place in the best possible way; in a way that suits the status of Qatar.

As a result of these preparations, the Doha Corniche has been decorated and has appeared in its finest form, especially the main platform, which has been recently expanded and beautified.

Qatar’s flags (Al Adaam) have been raised on the lighting poles to float in the sky of glory and along the Corniche, in an atmosphere that reflects the depth of national belonging and evokes the history of ancient Qatar and its modern progress.

The Organising Committee is keen to make the National Day celebrations on Al Corniche this year distinguished in a way that they will make the most beautiful image. The palm trees spreading along the Corniche have been decorated threefold compared to the last year.

The trees, fountains, cubes, have been beautified. Also, various green spaces, which span dozens of kilometres, have been decorated with roses and seedlings. All these places are illuminated with dazzling lights, which fit the nature of this great national occasion.

The flags were also lit along the Corniche, in a way that enhances the heritage of this great national occasion. Also more than 20,000 seats are available for the audience.

In this context, the Committee has been keen to provide all necessary amenities and facilities, starting from the Sheraton Doha Hotel to Fardat Al Sheikhs.

The Organising Committee for the Qatar National Day 2018 celebrations has provided approximately 23 assembly points, accommodating more than 20,000 vehicles. Also buses will be offered to transport the public from these points to the celebration site along the Doha Corniche.

Five large screens have been installed at different locations along the Corniche to facilitate the watching of the national march through these screens, in addition to providing large screens inside the new Al Bidda Park and Souq Waqif, providing all necessary services to facilitate the public.

In addition, 31 food carts will be provided along the Corniche.

Twenty six ambulances will be distributed along the Corniche and its various areas, to provide the necessary medical services, in addition to the expansion of public toilets and special toilets for the disabled.

The national march will be preceded by a classic car show, extending along the Doha Corniche. Also fireworks will start at 8pm that will last for 10 minutes to accompany the public to the world of dazzling lights. (Source)
