The countdown to INDEX Qatar 2018 is underway, with less than two weeks to go until the three-day interiors show returns to Doha.

Supported by the Qatar Tourism Authority, and against a backdrop of sustained growth for the fit-out market across the country, INDEX Qatar will gather hundreds of international product manufacturers, interior design firms, and other visitors at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre from 13th to 15th November 2018.

Last year’s debut exhibition showcased the products and services of over 86 exhibitors from 17 countries, and the 2018 edition will see even more major players from across the industry taking part.

The exhibition is expected to attract close to 5,000 people from across all parts of the Qatari and international design community - from interior designers and architects to project managers, importers and distributors - across retail, hospitality, residential and commercial design sectors, as well as the general public.

Qatar is a booming market for global suppliers, too, with international companies being particularly well-represented at the exhibition.

“Qatar represents an exceptionally exciting market for us – with enormous growth potential”, commented Guy Ferstler, General Director of French luxury crystalware manufacturer, Cristal de Paris. “Over 90% of our turnover is driven by the export market, and Qatar is central to our international development strategy. Last year’s event was a huge success and we are thrilled to return to Doha for a second year to be part of the INDEX Qatar community once again.”

Pauline Hutchinson, Marketing Manager at Arqadia - the UK's leading supplier of picture frames and mouldings, commented: "The pace of development in Qatar is remarkable, and the country is now very much a priority for us in terms of business development. INDEX Qatar provides an excellent opportunity for us to be able to meet current and prospective clients - designers, specifiers and architects - across all three days of the event."

Following their huge success at last year’s launch show, INDEX Qatar’s three days of design-led conversation will return, with Design Talks panels featuring leading interior and architectural specialists from around the world. These include engineering firms Hilson Moran, the Arab Engineering Bureau, and Cundall, designers Mirabello Interiors, and developer Msheireb Properties.

“As the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project, Msheireb Downtown Doha is blazing a trail with a new architectural language that is modern yet inspired by traditional Qatari heritage and architecture,” said Fatima Fawzy, Design Manager at Msheireb Properties, who will be addressing audiences at the exhibition. “Msheireb Downtown Doha will become a new social and civic hub in the city centre: we are delighted to take part in INDEX Qatar and share our latest news and innovations, as well as to meet with and learn from a cross-section of the industry”.

Matt Kitson, Qatar Regional Director at international engineering firm Hilson Moran, said, “With over 40 years of successful delivery across Europe, the USA and Middle East, we have a long history of championing technology and we continue to take practice-wide initiatives to support growth. We are looking forward to taking part in a valuable industry-wide discussion with direct learning – and ultimately commercial - benefits for entities across the spectrum of the market.”

Firms already confirmed to attend INDEX Qatar include Cristal de Paris, Pliteq, Lisowski Glass Studio, Maze Creative Concepts, Arqadia, and Algedra Furniture, amongst many others.
