British Airways, the UK’s flagship carrier, yesterday announced reduction on its World Traveller (economy) airfares from Qatar to popular destinations in Europe and North America during Ramadan. Return economy flights from Doha to London Heathrow start from QR1,860, fares to other major European destinations are available from QR2,360, while ticket prices to the USA and Canada start from just QR3,200 and QR3,140, respectively. Tickets can be purchased between August 20 and September 3, for travel up to March 31, 2010 and prices include taxes, fees and service charges. “This promotion provides our Qatar customers a good opportunity to travel during the month of Ramadan. We are confident that these great value fares will attract a high proportion of people looking to take or break or visit family and friends abroad,” said Paolo De Renzis, British Airways’ Area Commercial Manager, Middle East. “Traditionally, promotions involving our economy class cabins have generated huge interest, so I’d advise customers to book early to ensure they take advantage of these discounted fares on their desired travel dates,” added De Renzis. A full timetable of British Airways’ global services is available online at ba.com and customers can book, pay and check in online for their flights. British Airways currently operate multiple daily services from Doha International to London Heathrow’s Terminal 5, the airline’s £4.3bn (QR21.5bn) home at the UK’s principal airport. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=August2009&file=Local_News2009082012023.xml
