Barwa Real Estate company is organising site visits for tenants of its low-rent housing units in Mesaimeer, as preparations for handing over the houses are nearing completion. A total of 992 two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats in Mesaimeer are getting ready for occupation. Delivery of the residential units is expected in January next year and signing of the lease contracts will commence immediately after the Eid Al Adha holidays. A total of 1,984 housing units are being constructed in two locations — Mesaimeer and Al Sailiya . Allotment of houses in Al Sailiya will take place only by the middle of next year, due to delay in construction caused by a shortage of building materials, Dr Yousef Mohamed Al Horr, president of Strategy and Investment at Barwa, said in a press conference yesterday. “The site visits will give the tenants an opportunity to closely inspect the houses allotted to them before signing the lease contract. While allotting houses, we have considered several factors to ensure the right mix of people in one complex,” said Al Horr. He, however, added that the tenants were not allowed to pick and choose the houses on their own. The tenants will be informed via email and text messages as well as by telephone about the dates and the schedule of the visits. They have been requested not to bring their children with them during the visit for reasons of safety. Special vehicles will be available for people with special needs to tour the buildings. The visits will allow tenants to check even minute details of their apartment, so that they can identify all the equipment they will need, including electrical devices and kitchen appliances. An agreement has been reached with Qtel to provide tenants with Mozaic packages, which consist of an Internet line, a phone line and a variety of TV channels at competitive prices. Piped butane gas will also be provided at an annual charge of QR360. All work related to the laying of gas pipelines to the project site and providing water connections has been completed. Visitors can reach the project site at Mesaimeer through the road to Al Wakra or through the road to the Industrial Area. Al Horr said signing of the lease contracts with the tenants is scheduled to take place from December 15 to 25, between 7:30am and 2:30pm. The tenants will be contacted between November 30 and December 4 to determine the date of their attendance to sign the contract. The tenants have been urged to stick to the dates reserved for them. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=November2008&file=Local_News2008112653431.xml
