The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has announced on 14 December, that they will build a Panda shelter, 18 new parks in various parts of Qatar among other projects.
The Director of Projects and Development Department at MME, Dr. Eng Abdullah Nasser Al Kaabi was speaking in ‘An Open Meeting With An Official’ programme organised by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment at the headquarters of the Projects and Development Department and said: “Nine major projects have been approved in the 2021 annual budget. The major projects include a shelter for panda, 18 new parks, waste segregation plant in Al Khor and developing animal farm complexes”.
The other projects that were approved as part of the new budget include upgrading MME laboratories with advanced equipment, a project to establish an infrastructure for recycling lands in Al Afjah, a project to construct a new sanitary landfill in Mesaieed, rehabilitating old landfills, a project to construct windbreaks using perennial trees to block sandstorms and beautify roads.
