Aspire Zone Foundation’s (AZF) bi-annual ‘Aspire for Education’ conference kicked off today at the Torch Ballroom within the Aspire Zone in Doha, with AZF’s CEO Mr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Suwaidi and a host of other senior Aspire dignitaries attending the conference’s inauguration and opening day.

The regional conference, which is in its third year, is being held on the 13th and 14th of March at the Torch Ballroom under the theme ‘Our Values, Our Pride’.

The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Badr Al Hay, Director of Education and Student Care at Aspire Academy, who welcomed local and regional education and leadership experts and senior officials from Aspire Zone Foundation to the opening day.

The senior AZF delegation was led by Mr. Al-Suwaidi and included Mr. Abdulaziz Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, Deputy President for Sports Projects at Aspire Zone, Mr. Ivan Bravo, Director General of Aspire Academy, Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Deputy Director General of Aspire Academy, among other senior officials from Aspire Academy.

The conference aims to bring together education and leadership experts from Qatar, the GCC and other pan-Arab countries such as Syria and Jordan, under one roof to share best practice and discuss ground-breaking research into the role of positive societal values on students’ wellbeing and its effects on the students’ performance at school. Those in attendance will also benefit from the comprehensive workshops offered by the Academy’s experts over the two days.

Mr. Badr Al-Hay, Director of Education and Student Care at Aspire Academy, said as part of his welcoming remarks on the first day of the conference: “Since its establishment in 2004, Aspire Academy has been on a journey that has been developing students holistically, providing individuals with a comprehensive academic, social and sporting education. This conference brings together education and leadership experts from a variety of backgrounds and expertise to ensure knowledge can be exchanged across the industry. We hope the conversations, debates and workshops taking place today and tomorrow help with the adoption and implementation of ethical values in the educational curriculum which will in turn help produce a well-rounded society.”
