The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced that the Ras Bu Aboud Tunnel on the Sharq Interchange will be closed for eight hours. The closure will be implemented on Friday 3 April and Friday10 April, 2015 and will last for 8 hours from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Ashghal is implementing this closure in order to carry out some periodic inspection works of the tunnel’s infrastructure as well as the ventilation, lighting, electrical, and control systems of the tunnel.
Motorists who intend to use this carriageway to go towards Hamad International Airport and Al Wakra via the Ras Bu Aboud tunnel are advised to follow the traffic diversion signals and use the traffic diversion down the Ras Bu Aboud tunnel to go directly to the Sharq Interchange, and then take a left turn at the traffic lights.
Ashghal will install the necessary road signs at the closure place to advice motorists during the work period. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
