Doha, 27 August 2016: The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a temporary closure on part of Mohamed bin Thani Street, in the direction from National Museum towards the Civil Defence Roundabout. The lanes in the opposite direction will remain open to traffic, as shown in the attached map. The closure will start on the morning of Monday, 29 August 2016 and will last until the morning of Tuesday 30 August 2016, and in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.
The temporary closure aims at completing the works to convert the Civil Defence Roundabout into a signal-controlled intersection, which are part of the fifth phase of the Development of Intersections and Roundabouts project in several areas in the Municipality of greater Doha. The project aims to enhance the traffic flow and reduce the congestion in major areas.
Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the works. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their and others safety.
