According to a report by Gulf Times on 15 August 2023, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has initiated maintenance work on the Corniche Square tunnel floor. Maintenance includes replacing the granite floor with new, improved, better-resistant tiles.
Ashghal has previously completed works on three main tunnels linking the Corniche East and West, jogging and cycling tracks, and beautification projects of the Al Corniche Plaza, Al Dafna Plaza, and Al Bidda Plaza.
