Temporary closure on Al Markhiya Street, between Al Istiqlal Street and Al Jamiaa Street, will be implemented by Ashghal in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.

The closure will be implemented as follows:

Part of one main lane on Al Markhiya St. in the direction from Al Jamiaa St. towards Al Istiqlal St. will be closed, while two main lanes will remain open to traffic as shown in the attached map, starting from Tuesday 20 December 2018 till Monday 7 January 2019.

Part of one of the two left-turn lanes heading from Al Markhiya St. to Al Jamiaa St. will be closed, while the other left-turn lane will remain open to traffic as shown in the attached map, from Thursday 20 December to Sunday 30 December.

This closure aims to enable the completion of phase 2 of the project to develop stormwater drainage networks, which will be constructed in 51 locations in Doha.

These new networks will be linked to existing main drainage networks in the area, in addition to providing stormwater storage and control areas.

Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their and others safety.
