The Minister of Transport H E Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti will open the Qatar International Exhibition and Conference for Transport, Railways and Logistics (Trans4 – 2013) at Doha Exhibition Centre tomorrow. Trans4 is the premier event for the transport and logistics sector in the GCC states. It is an ideal market and forum for all companies to share information, products, services and latest developments in the transport industry. Representatives of over 30 countries will participate in the exhibition. Mowasalat, the gold sponsor of the event, will set up a stand (No. S8) over an area of 72sqm to display its products and services and showcase and promote its corporate brand. It will also take part in the conference with a presentation on ‘Mowasalat’s initiatives for water transport’ scheduled to be introduced next year. The company will also display a new school bus and a CNG-fuelled bus. At the conference, experts will discuss the GCC railway network, the future of the aviation industry through the perspective of the new Hamad International Airport, maritime transport and related services, shipping and logistics supplies and procurement industries, road transport networks and transport systems for logistics. Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC) at Qatar Science and Technology Park will demonstrate its latest integrated mobility innovative solutions. Smart Logistics Management is one of the main segments within QMIC’s Masarak solution. Masarak is a comprehensive open intelligent platform and an integrated suite of intelligent transport, logistics management, and road safety services and applications fully developed in Qatar and optimised for serving the needs of various sectors in Qatar and the region. Two main services within logistics are iFleet (Intelligent Fleet Management) and iDispatch (Intelligent Dispatching System). The iFleet and iDispatch applications have new enhanced versions developed and released last year. iFleet is an application that helps organisations manage fleets in real-time, while increasing efficiency and improving safety. iDispatch is an intelligent dispatching system that provides booking and dispatching through multiple means like call-ins, web portal, and mobile apps. Omar Bondogji, Head of Business Development and Marketing at QMIC, will speak about logistics services on the second day of the event.
