Al faisal without borders foundation honors schools farm your country program 2023 2024

Al Faisal without Borders (ALF) Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipality - represented by the Public Parks Department, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, organized a ceremony honoring the winning schools in the “Farm your County” program for the academic season 2023-2024.

The honoring ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Founder and Chairman of AL Faisal without Border Foundation, His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiya, Minister of Municipality, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al Sada, Acting Director of the Public Parks Department in the Ministry of Municipality, Engineer Abdullatif Ali Al-Yafei, General Manager of Al Faisal without Borders Foundation, Ms. Mona El Helbawi, General Manager of the Education, Culture and Sports Sectors at Al Faisal Holding - ARIES Cluster, and a group of educational and executive leaders in the Ministries of Municipality, Education, and Higher Education along with valued media partners.

It is worth noting that this year is the ninth consecutive edition implemented by the Foundation, with the participation of 400 students from different levels of education, representing 36 public and private schools.

Over the past years, the program has had a significant impact, reaching over 3,000 students who have benefited from comprehensive knowledge on producing healthy food. They were taught how to cultivate vegetables and ornamental plants, which they used to adorn the gardens of both their schools and homes. This experience has not only enhanced their confidence in self-reliance and initiative but has also equipped future generations with the skills to manage their own resources effectively.

Roqaya Preparatory For Girls Independent School was awarded the Excellence Award announced by Al Faisal without Borders Foundation last year in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education by implementing an integrated botanical garden on its premises, in pursuit of its commitment to green sustainability. This initiative aims to leave a lasting impact on our students, molding them into environmentally conscious leaders of tomorrow.

His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani expressed his delight with the caliber of schools and students participating in this year’s edition of the program. He emphasized that the Foundation’s programs have consistently aimed to equip students from diverse backgrounds with fundamental scientific, engineering, and technical skills essential for their educational and future endeavors. This commitment was evident throughout the competition among participating schools during the agricultural season, which spanned from November 2023 to March 2024.

His Excellency congratulated the winners and extended his best wishes for success in future participations within the programs of Al Faisal without Borders Foundation. Additionally, he honored the school that received the Distinction Award for this agricultural season at the national level in Qatar.

His Excellency thanked the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for their continued support of the Foundation’s programs throughout the previous years.

He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Municipality for the fruitful cooperation in the Farm Your Country program.”

This initiative aligns with the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030. The introduction of the Plant Your Homeland program has sparked creativity and diversity among students, strengthening their sense of responsibility to preserve the environment."

The atmosphere of the ceremony was full of enthusiasm and joy, which reflects positively on the extent of the impact of these programs and activities in enriching the educational process, developing the desired skills of students, and achieving the goals implemented by Al Faisal without Borders Foundation.
