The Peninsula newspaper reported on 14 May 2022, the launch of various summer programmes and activities for students by the Friends of the Environment Centre (FEC) in the coming days. This is an initiative that has been taken in an attempt to further enhance efforts toward environmental preservation.
As per the Director of the Friends of the Environment Centre, Farhoud Hadi Al Hajri, the programmes will be headed by the slogan ‘Istakshif’, translating to 'explore', as mentioned in the article.
The programmes will be targeting students of the ages 10 to 18 years old and will consist of environmental workshops addressing various topics such as cultivation and recycling.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that field trips will also be a part of the programme such as beach cleaning drives, in an attempt to influence children's behaviour and practices towards the environemnt.
