The organizing committee of H.H. Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Contest at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs launched today the first phase of Ratil w Arsil (recite and send) contest via the application WhatsApp. This is the competition's third edition and is created for children from 6 to 12 years old.

The committee explained that the Recite and Send contest, one of the branches of the Sheikh Jassim Quranic competition, for boys and girls including citizens and residents, comes from H.H. Sheikh Jassim's belief in the importance of benefiting from modern technology and social media in order to serve the teaching of the Book of God and open broad horizons for broad participation from the public via WhatsApp.

Participants can enter the competition by recording a video clip of a Quranic recitation of no more than 60 seconds and no less than 45 seconds and sending it via phone at +974 5559 2080, noting that the period for receiving entries is from 4 pm until 9 pm.

The competition includes two phases: the first phase from 2-6 Ramadan this year, during which 100 participants from citizens and a similar number from residents are selected, while the second and final phase starts from 10 to 13 of the same month, in which the qualifiers are asked to send a new video clip according to the required conditions. This stage is devoted to arranging the positions among the winners, and the final result is calculated by the average score of the two stages.

The competition requires that the participant shall be Qatari or a resident in the State of Qatar, and the age of the contestant shall not be less than (6) years and not more than (12) years, with the verses chosen by the contestant.

The committee clarified that participation takes place in a video clip containing personal data (the contestant's name, age, phone number, and nationality, in addition to the verses being recited), with adherence to the participation period, which is limited to only one video clip devoid of sound effects, with females not being obligated to open the camera during participation.

According to the competition schedule, the winners will be announced on Ramadan 18, corresponding to April 19. The committee allocated to the first place holder QR 3000, the second QR 2500, the third QR 2000, the fourth QR 1500, and the fifth QR 1,000 while the rest of the applicants from 6 to 100 will receive QR 500.
