Seven persons were killed and nine injured seriously in a road accident in Al Khor on Friday, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday.
The accident took place around 2.30pm on Friday when a pickup truck carrying a number of Asian workers was being driven from Al Qashashi roundabout and heading to Ras Laffan.
When the pickup driver attempted to overtake a car without being sure of the traffic flow on the opposite direction, the vehicle collided head on with a bus.
In addition to drivers of both the vehicles, six passengers in the pickup were also killed. Nine passengers in the bus were seriously injured and taken to the hospital, Arrayah added.
