Twins

Qatari twins Abdullah and Saleh Salem Al Saadi, also known as 'Twin22' by people who know them rescued 10 people from a fire that broke out in a house next to theirs in the Al Aziziya area as a result of an electrical contact in an air conditioner, saving them from death.

Abdullah and Saleh were sitting together at their Majlis (Council) when they saw smoke rising from the nearby house. They didn't wait for the Civil Defense to arrive, but instead, rushed to the house when they saw flames rising and thick smoke around it. When they got to the door, they heard women and children calling out for help. The fire had engulfed the house and was preventing them from getting out of the rooms they were stuck in.

Luckily, the twins were able to enter the house and rescue the people stuck inside. Though the women and children were in a state of exhaustion because of smoke inhalation, some of them were covered, and luckily, the twins were able to rush them all out. The man of the house was not there as he was at work at the time.

Abdullah and Saleh did a quick survey of the ground floor to ensure no was left behind who may be injured, unconscious or unable to call for help. But, unfortunately, they were unable to reach one of the maids who was on the top floor of the house, as the flames were heavy in the main hall of the house, which prevented the twins from reaching her, until the Civil Defense Forces arrived and used advanced equipment to rescue the maid.

The Civil Defence personnel thanked the twins for the courage they displayed in saving their neighbours despite the rising smoke that also left them short of breath. Thanks to their brave rescue there were no casualties, and everyone is safe.

Saleh told Al Raya newspaper that despite suffering from asthma, he did not hesitate for a moment to help the people of the house. He explained that he had shortness of breath and the ambulance service provided him with the necessary medical assistance until his condition improved. He also said he received numerous phone calls to thank him and his brother for their courage in saving the neighbours, but mentioned that they did nothing but their humanitarian duty.
