Al Wasmi Gardens Festival, which began yesterday at Katara and will run till Feb. 22, hosts wonderful and attractive international designs for the gardens of five different countries: France, India, Britain, Japan, as well as the host country Qatar. Each of these gardens features innovative engineering designs and special types of plants, trees, and flowers.
H.E. General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti launched on Tuesday the "Al-Wasmi" Garden Festival, in the presence of HE Group CEO of Ooredoo Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al-Thani, HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, HE Qatar Airways CEO and Secretary-General of Qatar National Tourism Council Akbar Al Baker and Ambassadors.
H.E. Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways and Secretary-General of Qatar National Tourism Council, Akbar Al Baker, said: "We are delighted to support the Al Wasmi Garden Festival. It is a fantastic new initiative for Qatar that will delight residents and visitors alike and is a great addition to our country's excellent calendar of events. I hope that visitors to the festival will especially enjoy the French Garden by Qatar Airways, inspired by the palace gardens of France."
