The Pearl-Qatar has welcomed 25 new retailers - including several hospitality outlets - providing residents and visitors to the island with an exceptional leisure experience.

Despite only having passed the first quarter of 2017, a large number of new outlets have established in Porto Arabia, Medina Centrale and Qanat Quartier, reflecting the success of master developer United Development Company (UDC), in attracting businesses to meet the requirements of the island’s residents. These new outlets take the number of businesses at The Pearl-Qatar to well over 300.

A subsequent pickup in retail activity across the island has been recorded, as witnessed by the number of vehicles entering The Pearl-Qatar. This is tracked through monitoring devices installed at the entrance of the island. From March 9 to April 8, a weekly average of 210,000 vehicles have entered The Pearl-Qatar, and more than 10 million vehicles have visited The Pearl in the past year.

Unlike most shopping experiences across Qatar and the Gulf region, where visitors are restricted to indoor malls, The Pearl-Qatar offers visitors a beautiful alfresco experience with many shops, restaurants and cafes directly overlooking the beach.

As a leading local project, The Pearl-Qatar continues to attract an increasing number of top tier brands looking to establish a presence in the growing Qatari market by setting up flagship stores on the island.

The variety of retail establishments will appeal to both Qatari consumers and the expat community as their offerings cater to a variety needs and tastes.

Porto Arabia, home to The Pearl-Qatar’s main marina, welcomed David Morris, one of the world’s leading jewelry manufacturers and an esteemed British brand, dating back to 1962.

Italian Ice Cream Cafe Gelarto Rosa; Sea & Deserts, a supplier of land and maritime equipment, and Dar Haa gift shop, in addition to Havana Cafe, Beauty Boutique, Pressto Laundry, Dr. Shake and Luxury Living have all unveiled new outlets in Porto Arabia, bringing the total number of shops in that area to 213.

Medina Centrale is now home to 80 shops, including the recently opened Crepe & More, Arabian fragrance store Ajmal Perfumes and Dnata Travel services.

Qanat Quartier, the waterfront village reminiscent of Venice in Italy, witnessed the opening of Regus Business Center for office space rental; Henks Garden; Chimney Cake; and local state-of-the-art N.Zein Café; Fashion Outlet Modern, Mr. Blend coffee shop and Melia for Flowers & Gifts, bringing the total number of shops in the neighborhood to 30.

Eleven: Eleven, the specialized coffee and cereal shop, also opened its doors to the public in the Oyster building, located near the entrance of The Pearl-Qatar.
