Qatar's hospitality industry will receive more than $40bn worth of investments over the next 15 years. The money will go towards construction of 105 new hotels and create over 20,000 new rooms in the country.

"Qatar's investment in the hospitality industry is clearly visible with nearly 105 upcoming hotels and approximately 21,000 rooms at various stages of construction," said IFP Qatar's General Manager, George Ayache.

The country's hotel and food and beverage sectors are expanding at a "rapid rate," Ayache explained, at the official launch of the Hospitality Qatar 2016 expo. The annual event is organised by IFP Qatar under license by the Qatar Tourism Authority - it takes place from October 18 to 20 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The exhibition will host to five national pavilions and is expecting more than 7,000 local and international visitors. There will be 132 exhibitors, including Qatar, Austria, Bahrain, China, Germany, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan and Turkey.

"The event will provide a progressive platform for hospitality, hotels, restaurants and café operators to showcase their latest products and build new business opportunities," Ayache went on to say.

The exhibition will also play host to workshops by some of the region's top hospitality experts. Topics range from the role of hospitality in achieving Qatar's National Vision 2030 and a market overview of the international sector in general. (Source)
