The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has confirmed that the decision of H.E. the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al -Thani to allow commercial activities to be carried out in areas and streets in the State, comes within the framework of the State of Qatar's keenness to promote and support the bilateral partnership between the public and private sectors, and to create a variety of opportunities to participate in economic development projects.

The Ministry said in a statement today that this decision comes in accordance with the directions of the State and complement the previous decisions of H.E. the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior to support investment, and these decisions provide the establishment and activation of the right climate for investment in Qatar.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment stated that the decision includes allowing some educational activities such as colleges, quality institutes and kindergartens in the administrative towers area in (West Bay Area), as well as allowing some medical activities such as primary health care centers, diagnostic and treatment centers and clinics.

In addition, 27 commercial activities will be allowed in 14 streets including Montazah, Haloul Street, Ali Bin Abi Talib Street, Corniche Street, Al Jazeera Street, Third Ring Road, Al Amir Street, Al Rawabi Street, Joaan Street, Ibn Sina Street, Al Markhiya Street, Al Rayyan Street and Rawdat Al Khail Street.

Allowing for the addition of various administrative activities within the malls, such as medical centers, cultural services, and offices as supportive activities, with the aim of integrating the required services within a single facility.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has organized a discussion session on the sidelines of the Cityscape Qatar 2019 exhibition held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center on the decision to allow commercial activities in some areas and streets in the country.

The session discussed the positive impact of this decision and its role in supporting investment opportunities in the country.
