The Cultural Village Foundation Katara opened the Italian art exhibition titled "A focus on the Italian heritage" in building 19, including 16 different artworks by three prominent Italian artists Olivier Roller, Camilla Borghese and Riccardo Ajossa who displayed some of their finest artworks of sculptures, paintings and architecture.

Central to their work is the mythic world - seemingly fleeting - of ages long gone such as the Ancient Greek and Roman periods, which so deeply marked, and continue to mark, the Western civilization.

Roller investigates the anatomic details of Classical Roman statues in order to reveal the most intimate and human aspects of projections of power, while Borghese concentrates on the wondrous perspective and the divine proportions of the monumental architecture of ancient Rome, and Ajossa re-examines fragments of Italian Renaissance paintings, mirroring them in the soft undulations of the sea to amplify and highlight their chromatic allure.

During the opening ceremony last night, HE Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Qatar Pasquale Salzano praised this initiative by Katara and the fruitful cooperation between them which resulted in several cultural events which aim to enrich and diversify the content of the exhibitions and shows presented for the visitors of Katara.
