Dance, Fitness, Music and Arts for Kids this Summer
Summer break is one of the most anticipated season of the year for kids. It is the time to enjoy, explore and experience new and exciting stuff that will bring lasting memories through-out the year.
IAID, the pioneer in conducting workshop in Qatar for 11 years now, is leveling up the excitement as it presents Summer Workshop 2012 for kids. The workshop offers fun-filled activities that will surely harness the kid’s energy as well as develop their talents and skills in dance, music, arts and fitness.
Affiliated with the London College of Music (LCM) University of West London, Nalanda Dance Research Centre and more, IAID is an Academy for Dance, Music and Arts with certified and professional instructors who maintain strict quality standards to learning and performance.
This year covers 3 cycle with unique and interesting courses open for children 4 years old and above. The workshop presents variety of courses to choose from so that every kids can try out, learn and be more productive this summer.
Dance Courses provide exceptional basic trainings, while allowing students to also explore the wider world of dance in a creative, friendly and fun learning environment. Featuring this year are dance courses such as Hip Hop Training, Poi Dance and Ballroom Blast specifically design for participants 7 years and above. Kids will learn variation of rhythm, coordination, correct footwork technique, facial body expression and appropriate arm movements as well as develop their confidence and memory skills. The workshop also offers alternative dance courses starting from 4 years old.. Kids can rediscover natural movements through simple and fun dance steps in Modern Jazz or be tuned to the movement and rhythm with the splendors of Indian Folk Dance.
Fitness courses are likewise perfect for the active child from age 4 years and above. Mixercise is a healthy and invigorating mix of exercises that will engage participants as they move, dance, stomp and hop. Another innovative fitness course for kids this year is Boxing for Fitness which promotes well-being and self- discipline.
For musically inclined kids, this summer is a great time to learn basics in note-reading, rhythmic patterns and harmonies. In Crescendo (Acoustic Guitar Course), kids from 5 years and above will learn the uniqueness of acoustic and finger style guitar while strumming melodies during ensemble sessions. While kids from 6 years and above will have the chance to experience keyboard ensemble playing using a parkin publications book officially used by LCM for ensemble playing examinations through this year’s Keyboard in Concert Course. To sum up the Music Courses, is Sing Like a Star, a program for 4 years old and above designed to develop and enhance the student’s confidence in singing live/onstage and at the same time learn the singing essentials.
For young artists, the Visual and Studio Arts program offers a unique mix of art styles through these creative art experience courses. Stained Glass Creativity is a new and safe for kids program intended for 7 years old and above wherein participants will learn basic techniques of creating a stained glass design. On the other hand , kids from 4 years and above will learn from Fantastic Self Portrait Rendition course the basic drawing fundamentals of creating a fantastic self portrait using a variety of medium .
Two courses on Personality Development will complete the Summer Workshop experience. This high quality training workshop will be conducted by an experienced Trainer Vicky Ferrer-Mustafa who is specially visiting Qatar. Vicky is a highly qualified Training Consultant for renowned universities under Qatar Foundation and was recently elected as the Lt. Governor of the Toastmasters Club International.
Lead, Speak Up And Innovate will teach kids from 6-10 years old emphasis on personal development through public speaking, leadership training and on how to "think outside the box" at an early age. On the other hand Visualization - The Way to Excellence in Communication and Leadership , is a practical training workshop for participants 11-18 years of age, fusing a holistic approach in writing, speaking, leading and developing creative skills needed in today's competitive world.
The summer workshop provides a stimulating environment where children can learn more effectively from each other. Through fun activities and exercise, learning becomes easy. The workshop is likewise a wonderful opportunity for kids to acquire and retain new knowledge. Through peer interaction and physically dynamic exercises, kids learn to be group-centered.
