Egyptian singer, actor, lyricist and composer Tamer Hosny (pictured), known for his breakthrough single Habibi Wenta B’eed (Sweetheart, When You’re Far Away),” will perform here on September 24 at the Doha InterContinental Hotel.
The event, which is sponsored by the Qatar Vision Production Company, will take place at the beach of the hotel.
Hosny, who recently released a new album Ha’esh Hayaty in June and was considered a smashing hit and released his new movie Omar Wa Salma 2 in May, is a young Egyptian performer who has been active since the late 90s. He was initially featured on Free Mix-tapes from Free Music Production company.
Tamer starred in the 2003 Egyptian movie, Halet Hobb (A State of Love), where he received the Oscar Award of Egyptian Cinema. The movie featured music which was produced by Hosny himself. In 2004, he released his first studio album as a solo artist. Titled Hobb, the album features the hit single “Arrab Habibi” which was heavily rotated on satellite music channels.
In 2006, Tamer Hosny released his album Einaya bethebak, as well as a music video from one of the album’s singles and was awarded by the Egyptian TV and Radio Festival as Best Singer and Best Song of the year in 2006. At the end of March 2007, Hosny released his latest album Ya Bent el Eih. The Egyptian media reported his album as Hosny’s first real step in his musical life.
