Indian dancer and actress Shobana and her troupe will perform a fusion dance titled ‘Mega Indian Dance Fusion — Krishna’, on Thursday, May 23, at 8.30pm at Regency Hall (Blue Hall), near The Mall roundabout. Shobana (pictured) will lead an all-female troupe of 15 dancers from her dance school Kalarpana in Chennai. Shobana has won India’s Best Actress National Film Award twice and the Government of India has honoured her with the Padma Shri for her contributions to the arts.

Prominent actors like Shabana Azmi, Konkana Sen, Nandita Das, Anupam Kher, Surya, Prabu, Milind Soman and Radhika have lent voices to the characters in the English dialogue. The entire show is directed and choreographed by Shobana and the sound design is by Oscar Award-winner Rasool Pookutty.

“The two-hour visual treat will be a musical dance fusion that has dialogues, theatre and dance. The music is in Hindi and the dialogues are in English,” the organiser said.

Entry tickets cost QR200 and QR100. Those buying three will get one free. They are available at Star World Group, behind New World Centre, Digital Ice Studio at Safari Mall, Parthas Textiles at Barwa Village and Al Yahri Supermarket in Mesaieed.
