The Boy and the World

  • Saturday, January 21 - 7 pm at MIA Park

An amazing Brazilian animation that truly exemplifies the power of imagery and music as a combination that has more than enough to portray a powerful and profound message. It shows an adventurous quest that illustrates the issues of the modern world through the eyes of a child. A cautionary tale of globalization, "The Boy And The World" teaches above all the dangers of the massification of the economy, of the mind, and of the soul.

  • Friday, January 20 - 7 pm at MIA Park

When their kingdom becomes trapped in perpetual winter, fearless Anna joins forces with mountaineer Kristoff and his reindeer sidekick to find Anna’s sister, Snow Queen Elsa, and break her icy spell. Although their epic journey leads them to encounters with mystical trolls, a comedic snowman, harsh conditions, and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff bravely push onward in a race to save their kingdom from winter’s cold grip.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

  • Thursday, January 19 - 7 pm at MIA Park

Ricky is a Very Bad Egg, or so claims frighteningly enthusiastic child-services officer Paula when she drops him off with Bella and Hec – the latest in a series of foster parents for the sullen young urban “gangsta”. This setup is the boy’s last chance to get on the straight and narrow before he is plucked out of the foster-care system and plonked into juvenile detention. Thanks to Bella’s penchant for killing with kindness, it looks like the delinquent-in-training just might get his act together at last.

Director Taika Waititi, of recent "Thor" franchise fame, carefully intertwines off-the-hook wit, brilliant performances, and a heartwarming story to provide a new take on the wilderness adventure story.

Limited capacity, First comes first served!
