Doha Festival City, Qatar's one and only destination for shopping and entertainment, announced a host of festivities around the mall, in celebration of Qatar National Day.

Axis Node, Ground Floor

Traditional activities such as the Mini Souq will take place every day 4 pm – 10 pm at the Axis node, ground floor, featuring the much-loved Henna Majlis, where shoppers can get authentic henna drawings. At the same area, a Carpet Workshop Majlis will host a carpet maker who will demonstrate to the visitors the art of weaving carpets the traditional way.

Centre Court, First Floor

The Mini Souq theme will extend to the Centre Court, First Floor, with Fishnet and Pearl Accessories making stations. Available daily from 4 pm to 10 pm, this majlis features two artists exhibiting how fishnets and pearl accessories are made to the audience. Customers can also take a perfect Instagram-able photo in national or traditional Qatari attire at the photo booth nearby. As the celebrations continue, local artists will be spotted in the bridge in First Floor Center Court and at the Atrium Node as they go about painting live two walls. Canvases on easels showcasing artworks by different artists will also be displayed beside them.

Market Node, Ground Floor

At the Market Node, ground floor, an artificial Sidra Tree, an icon of Qatar’s plains and geography, will be installed. Visitors are invited to leave notes and memos and hang it to the tree in commemoration of Qatar on its National Day. Visitors are also invited to take a photo of themselves against the tree and tag #SidratreeatDHFC for a chance to win prizes.

Customer Service Desks

And on the 18th of December, all customer service desks will offer shoppers traditional coffee and dates, while a live performance by an Arabesque Jazz Band will be playing the national anthem and an assortment of other songs in a Majlis, where more coffee and dates will be served.
