Qatar Scientists Community and Social Network (QSC) aims to create regular casual meet up for scientists in Qatar to give them an opportunity to discuss their work and advances in their fields in a friendly atmosphere. Our group does meetings every two weeks and we have a diversity topics that we cover in the meetings.
It will be presented by Saad Pathan Genomics Laboratory Manager at Qatar Biomedical Research Institute, Qatar Foundation.

Summary of topic:
Discovering the multiple inherited factors due to genetic variation is starting to unravel the previously unknown mechanisms of the disease and offers new opportunities for personalized treatment as well as preventative strategies in certain cases. The new insights from the genetics of diabetes and the implications for personalized medicine, as well as preventative strategies, shall be presented during the informal meetup.
