About 500 trade firms from more than 30 countries will participate in the Doha Trade Fair, starting on January 17 at Doha Exhibition Center.
The eight-day exhibition will showcase a huge selection of goods ranging from bags to high-end furniture.
The organisers said yesterday that the previous trade fair was a “remarkable” success and a similar response was expected for the event this year.
“Qatar’s largest consumer fair is expected to be thronged by at least 150,000 in eight days,” said the organisers yesterday. It will evolve from a market souk to become a major trade show offering the latest products from Asia and the Middle East, they said.
Doha Trade Fair 2010 at the DEC is guaranteed to beat previous records with bigger participation from Syria, China, Egypt and Pakistan, and 50% more exhibition space means more products, more traders, and more bargains, said Qatar Expo CEO Karim Zarka yesterday.
Besides the above countries, traders from Iran, India, Turkey, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Tunisia, Qatar, Lebanon, UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Europe, Kenya, South Africa and Singapore have already confirmed participation.
