August 19 marks World Photography Day, and what better than The Pearl Island’s picturesque surroundings to take your best shot and capture meaningful moments?

Whether you are a professional photographer/videographer or a passionate hobbyist, you are invited to share your talent by participating in "The Pearl Island Through Your Lens" photography contest

Participation Terms:

• Participating photos or videos should be emailed no later than 10 August 2022 to [email protected] and posted on the participant’s Instagram account tagging @thepearlqatar.
• The participant must be a citizen or resident of Qatar.
• Only one entry is allowed per photographer or videographer.
• The participant’s details should be included in the submission email including name, address, Qatar ID no., date/period of capturing the photo or video, camera details, and contact information.

Technical Guidelines:

• The material must be original with no overlay text or watermarks.
• The photo or video must be in the highest resolution possible (minimum resolution is 300 dpi).
• Accepted photo formats: TIFF and JPEG and minimum dimensions: 1920X1080 and 1080X1920.
• Accepted video format: MP4 and minimum dimensions: FHD 1920X1080.
• The photo or video can be in Landscape or Portrait mode and in full colour or black and white.
• Photos and videos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, colour, and contrast, etc...) will be disqualified.
• Inappropriate or culturally offensive content will not be entertained and would lead to direct disqualification.
• A caption must be given for the photo or video and sent by email along with the submission.
• UDC shall have all the copyrights to use any of the material generated during the competition.
  

‘Best Photo’ and ‘Best Video’ will be voted by our ‘unique’ and ‘real’ followers based on the highest number of comments (one comment per user will be counted).

Winners will then be announced on August 19 on The Pearl Island’s social media accounts and will each receive the new Canon EOS R5 professional camera!
