Abel Ortega Profile:

Abel Ortega descends from a Colombian and Panamanian line. He quickly became a Latin music lover during his early years in Panama City.
Much later in 2005, Ortega found himself deep in the mix of Tampa, Florida's social Salsa scene. He has voiced that it was purely a social interest. The dance art however, quickly became his sole obsession. After a year of hard core dancing, Abel started teaching for a local dance studio, Latin Groove. At Latin Groove, he became one of their principle instructors alongside the company's founder, Juan Paredes. Upon Paredes relocation, Ortega became sole proprietor/owner and sought to fill his dance catalog by learning from the top instructors at many of major congresses around the world.
While instructing, Abel brings his passion from both cultures into his Salsa teaching experience. He regularly states that Salsa is the “gift that keeps on giving, because no matter what, you are always learning new techniques and meeting cool people.”
