The UPDA (Urban Planning and Development Authority) Exam in Qatar is a crucial step for engineers to obtain the necessary license. Follow these steps for a smooth application process:

Step 1: Open an Hukoomi Account Begin by creating an account on Hukoomi, the official e-government portal in Qatar. This account will be your gateway for various governmental services.

Step 2: Verification of University and Degree Certificate Ensure that your university and degree certificates are verified. The UPDA Exam requires candidates to hold a valid engineering degree from a recognized institution.

Step 3: Check Attestation Verify that your certificates are duly attested. Attestation ensures the authenticity of your documents, a crucial requirement for the UPDA Exam.

Step 4: Police Clearance Certificate Obtain a police clearance certificate from your home country. This certificate is an essential part of the documentation process.

Step 5: Upload Your Documents Using your Hukoomi account, upload all required documents, including your verified university and degree certificates, attested documents, and the police clearance certificate

  1. Request MME Equivalency Letter: Visit the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) website to generate a request letter for equivalency in Arabic. This letter is a critical part of the equivalency process.
  2. School Equivalency: After generating the MME equivalency letter, apply for school equivalency through the Higher Education Council or a relevant government department in your home country. Ensure that your school certificates are appropriately attested.
  3. University Equivalency: Following the school equivalency, proceed to apply for university equivalency through the same website or department. This typically involves submitting additional required documents and going through a communication process with your university.
  4. Supreme Council Decision: The Supreme Council will review your application and decide whether to issue the university equivalency certificate.
  5. Upload Documents: In Qatar, as part of your UPDA Exam application, you will need to upload all the necessary documents, including the university equivalency certificate, on the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) website.
