The 2019 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup will be the 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship in Asia organised by the AFC itself. It will be held in the UAE from the 5th January to February 1 next year.
But before the main thing, the AFC trophy will first wander through the biggest continent's most populated cities so that football fans can check it out up close and take selfies with it.
Among the cities that will host the iconic Asian Cup UAE 2019 trophy is Doha, and you can spot it TODAY (December 4, 2018) on the following timings and venues:
Museum of Islamic Art - 3:00 to 4:00 PM
Souq Waqif - 4:30 to 6:00 PM
The expanded AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 will see 24 teams vying for honours in the January 5-February 1 extravaganza.
There will be prize money at stake (USD$14.8 million) for the first time in the AFC Asian Cup. The champions, when crowned on February 1, will also lift the brand-new AFC Asian Cup trophy—which you can take a selfie with RIGHT NOW!
UAE 2019 will be the 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, with the first held in 1956 in Hong Kong with just four teams competing.
Eight world class stadiums will be used with the Zayed Sports City Stadium hosting both the opening match between the UAE and Bahrain on January 5 and the final on February 1.
