How many public holidays does Qatar have? Mr. Q is back with another QTip episode and this time we’re talking about the national holidays celebrated here.

If you’re planning to come to Doha anytime soon, you might want to know this to make your travel worthwhile. The activities during each holiday might change annually.

If you're working in Qatar, you should know that according to Article 78 of the Labour Law:

The Worker shall be entitled to an annual leave with a full Wage as follows:
1- Three working days on the occasion of Eid AI-Fitr.
2- Three working days on the occasion Eid Al-Adha.
3- One working day on the occasion the Independence Day.
4- Three working days, their dates to be specified by the Employer.
If the Work conditions require the employment of the Worker during any such leaves, the provisions of Article (74) of this Law shall be applied thereon.

National Sport Day was established in response to Amiri Resolution No. (80) of 2011 and is celebrated every second Tuesday of February.

The dates of Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha are usually announced by the Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs in Qatar while Qatar National Day is celebrated every 18th of December.
