We've all experienced this: You get on a Karwa taxi and the driver offers you a fixed price when he can just turn on the meter and hand you a receipt the moment you reach your destination -- which is the right thing to do! Some of us will agree to his price but a smarter commuter would say: "Hey, your meter's there for a reason. Better turn it on, bro!"
