Emir places Qatar National Library's one millionth book!

The Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronized yesterday evening the inauguration ceremony of the Qatar National Library (QNL), at the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).

The Emir signed the official inauguration certificate of QNL which marked the library’s official inauguration and he placed the library’s one millionth book, a rare 843-year-old manuscript copy of Sahih Al Bukhari.

The Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al -Thani, and H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) attended the inauguration ceremony, The peninsula Qatar reported.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers of Oman Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Assistant Prime Minister of Turkey Bakir Buzdag, Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al Sabah, Kuwaiti Minister of Emiri Diwan Affairs and Envoy of the Emir of Kuwait H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, and HRH Princess Lalla Hasna, representative of King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

Former President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, former President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, former President of Kosovo Atifa Yahya Agha, and former Prime Minister of Italian Republic Matteo Renzi also attended the inauguration ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by a number of Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the State, and guest
