According to QNA, Oman's program accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has revealed the organization of a festival for football fans at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCC) from 20 November to 18 December 2022, where visitors to the festival will be given the excitement and festive atmosphere of the World Cup, which includes enjoying watching all the matches of the tournament live, along with many accompanying events and activities.
The festival will offer a variety of programs including artistic performances, interactive games, exciting competitions, prizes, and various incentives for visitors. The festival will also feature an area dedicated to local and international restaurants and cafes that serve exquisite meals to cater to all tastes.
Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Sultanate of Oman Programme accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, stressed that the World Cup is the most important sporting event ever hosted by the region, and therefore Oman has launched a special program to celebrate this exceptional occasion as Muscat is one of the approved cities to host World Cup fans.
"The programme aims to provide an integrated experience for fans who choose Muscat for their stay during the tournament. The Football Fans Festival is the main attraction of the programme, as it is planned to be an unforgettable memory that brings visitors and fans closer to the atmosphere of the World Cup, while offering a perfect experience."
For his part, Hashel bin Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group, said:
"The Football Fans Festival was designed to be a family event full of fun and enthusiasm and suitable for all ages, whether football fans or others, so the Amman Convention and Exhibition Centre Park was chosen to host this event, to provide all the elements that enable us to give visitors a unique experience. We are confident that the Football Fans Festival will be an event that will remain in everyone's memory."
As part of the promotion of the festival, Omani football star Ali Al Habsi was chosen as the official ambassador of the festival, along with an impressive group of famous sports figures such as sports commentator Khalil Al Balushi, Omani tennis champion Fatima Al Nabhani and sports show star Mohammed Al Nofali, where everyone will participate in the festival to interact with visitors, as well as promote the events and activities accompanying it.
The festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors daily to enjoy the exciting atmosphere and diverse activities.
The festival village spans an area of more than 9,000 square meters, where all World Cup matches will be broadcast live via a number of giant screens, and visitors will also be able to enjoy a wide range of musical and artistic performances, football competitions, virtual reality challenges and other activities and competitions that will offer special daily and weekly prizes, along with outlets of restaurants and cafes serving local and international cuisine, where many small and medium enterprises participate in the festival in the most From 60 different categories.
It is worth mentioning that the Sultanate of Oman's program accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has announced the completion of Oman's preparations to welcome visitors wishing to attend the World Cup and reside in Oman in order to facilitate their arrival in the country and travel to Doha to attend matches and return on the same day, where all Haya cardholders and their first-class family members will be eligible for a free multiple-entry visa for 60 days, starting from the date of entry into the Sultanate for the first time.
Besides, the program accompanying the World Cup has added many benefits to fans choosing Oman as their place of residence, and Haya cardholders can choose from a variety of daily tours full of exciting adventures to discover the breathtaking natural beauty of Oman, along with its history and heritage.
