Saudi Arabia defeated Oman 1-0 at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah in the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Saudi national team maintained the top spot in the Group B standings with 19 points from seven matches.
The Saudi team will guarantee its sixth World Cup qualification in its history, two rounds before the conclusion of the qualifiers if it defeats Japan on Tuesday in Saitama.
Firas Al Buraikan scored the game's only goal for the Saudi team in the 49th minute.
Japan defeated China 2-0 in Saitama, and Australia defeated Vietnam 4-0 in Melbourne, within the same group.
Japan is second in group B with 15 points, followed by Australia with 14, then Oman with seven, China with four points, and Vietnam without any points.
For Group A, the Iranian national team maintained the top spot with 19 points, while South Korea stands in second with 17 points.
The next match for Asian Qualifier will be on Tuesday, 1 February 2022.
