Qatar Museums announces timings during the World Cup

Qatar Museums announced that there will be special operating hours in effect at their museums, galleries, shops, restaurants, and cafés 1 November to 20 December.

All of Qatar Museums' venues will be open the following hours unless otherwise indicated:

  • Sunday through Saturday: 10 am to 8 pm
  • NOTE: Last entry to museums and galleries is 30 minutes prior to closure. Other museums and galleries are scheduled to be closed on specific dates.
  • Qatar Museums notes that the information below is subject to change and may be updated at any time.

Museums and Galleries' operating hours

3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum operating days

3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will be closed to the public on the following days:

  • Thursday, 10 November
  • Friday, 11 November

The museum will be closed to the public on the following match days at Khalifa International Stadium:

  • Monday, 21 November
  • Wednesday, 23 November
  • Friday, 25 November
  • Sunday, 27 November
  • Tuesday, 29 November
  • Thursday, 1 December
  • Saturday, 3 December
  • Saturday, 17 December

All visitors to 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum must purchase tickets online in advance of their visit. Ticket capacity is extremely limited and may change at any time. Parking at the museum is extremely limited. Visitors are recommended to be dropped off by private car or taxi or arrive via the metro.

NOTE: Upon arrival, visitors will be screened at the FIFA Security gates and must have a museum ticket and Hayya card. Once through security, visitors will be taken to and from the museum on a shuttle bus. They will not be permitted to enter the adjacent stadium.

National Museum of Qatar

Visitors are advised to use public buses or the metro. Information about getting around Doha during the FIFA World Cup can be found on Qatar2022.qa.

Tickets to the National Museum of Qatar are available in one-hour time slots. Please arrive on time to ensure entry.

Museum of Islamic Art

Due to road closures during the tournament, the Museum of Islamic Art will not be accessible by car. Visitors are advised to use public buses or the metro.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

The permanent collection galleries at Mathaf will be closed until 10 November. The entire museum will be closed to the public on the following Education City Stadium match days:

  • Tuesday, 22 November
  • Thursday, 24 November
  • Saturday, 26 November
  • Monday, 28 November
  • Wednesday, 30 November
  • Friday, 2 December
  • Thursday, 6 December
  • Friday, 9 December

The ticket capacity to these venues is extremely limited and may change at any time. It is advised that you purchase tickets in advance in order to select your preferred time slot.

M7

Tickets to the Forever Valentino exhibition at M7 are available in one-hour time slots. Please purchase tickets in advance in order to select your preferred time slot.

Opening Hours

  • Saturday through Thursday: 10 am to 8 pm
  • Friday Hours: M7 will be closed on Friday mornings. 1:30 pm to 8 pm

Fire Station Garage Gallery

All visitors to Fire Station must purchase tickets online in advance of their visit. There will be no tickets available for purchase on-site. Ticket capacity is extremely limited and may change at any time.

Fire Station will be closed to the public on the following days:

  • Monday, 9 November
  • Saturday, 19 November

Dadu Gardens - Opening on 21 November

All visitors to DADU Gardens must book tickets in advance.

Qatar Museums Gallery - Al Riwaq

Due to road closures during the tournament, Al Riwaq will not be accessible by car.

Qatar Museums Gallery - Katara

Katara is accessible by car or by public buses or the metro.

Al Najadah

Opening Hours:

  • Saturday through Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm
  • Friday Hours: 2 pm to 5 pm
  • Tickets are not required for Al Najadah. Entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Flour Mills

Visitors to the exhibition Art Mill Museum 2030 must arrive via the free shuttle bus departing from the Museum of Islamic Art. Tickets are not required but entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

MIA Park

MIA Park and Flag Plaza will remain open and accessible to the public 24 hours a day. However, they will not be accessible by car. Visitors are advised to use public buses or the metro.

Heritage Sites' operating hours

NOTE: Many of Qatar Museums' heritage sites are in remote locations and offer limited or no facilities. Only Al Zubarah Archaeological Site requires tickets.

Al Zubarah Archaeological Site

  • Saturday–Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm
  • Friday: 12:30 pm to 5 pm

Jassasiya Rock Art Site

  • Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm
  • Friday: 12:30 pm to 5 pm

Zekreet Fort and Mosque

  • Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm
  • Friday: 12:30 pm to 5 pm

The Old Palace

  • Sunday through Saturday: 10 am to 8pm
  • Included in the ticket for the National Museum of Qatar

Barzan Towers

  • Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 9 am–5 pm
  • Friday: 12:30 pm to 5 pm

Al Ruwaida Archaeological Site

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday: 9 am to 5 pm
  • Friday: 12:30 pm to 5 pm

Al Rekayat Fort

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday: 9 am to 5 pm
  • Friday: 12:30 pm to 5pm
