In a report by Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Social Development and Family in cooperation with the Secretariat General of the Arab League held a two-day workshop on Disability Classification in the Arab World. During this, H.E. Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad affirmed that Qatar has made great progress in preparing to receive and care for persons with disabilities at a regional and international level. She discussed the importance of empowering these people in the Arab world and to encourage them to be part of the community and not behind it.

As reported by QNA, H.E. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad called for applying a unified Arab classification based on practical classification components that goes beyond the square determined by the medical standard and combining it with the skill standard, the societal standard, and the educational standard.

With less than 5 months away from the international event, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, H.E. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad has emphasized the readiness of the state of Qatar to receive football match fans with disabilities. She reiterates that Qatar has made progressive moves to ensure that tournaments and sports facilities are easily accessible and enjoyed by people with disabilities.

She further shares that from the moment fans with disabilities arrive in Qatar at the Hamad International Airport, the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities is ready to provide its services, equipped with advanced technology and educational and rehabilitation equipment to enhance and provide the best travel experience.

H.E. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad proudly shares that a number of stadiums have been installed with specialized sensory rooms perfect for children in the autism spectrum and neuro-behavioral disorders. These rooms are also equipped with state-of-the-art devices to ensure the care and ideal atmosphere are provided.
