Palgrave Macmillan Publishing Company has issued a new book under the title of "Qatar and the 2022 FIFA World Cup: Politics, Controversy, Change".
The newly-published book offers an in-depth analysis of the State of Qatar's role as a key partner in making history with its hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The book presents the first full academic analysis of political, social, cultural and economic issues surrounding the first-ever world cup championship to be held in the Middle East, whether from a national or international perspective.
The book offers an insightful vision and a clear analysis of the social and political importance of the world cup tournament being held for the first time in the Middle East as well as analyzing the politics of great events on a larger scale.
Authors of the book, Dr Danyel Reiche, a Visiting Associate Professor at Georgetown University Qatar and Dr Paul Michael Brannagan, a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester present an insightful understanding of Qatar's motivations and its sports diplomacy strategies to achieve its national development and foreign policy objectives.
Also, the book tackles the ongoing role played by big sporting events to fulfil the post-2022 development ambitions in Qatar.
