Mowasalat announced in a tweet that during the first part of the World Cup, their electric vehicles were able to transport more than 4 million passengers over a distance of over 1.8M kilometers, which ultimately prevented over 1.6M kilograms of CO2 emissions.
The total CO2 emissions reduced amounted to 1,684,256 kg of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the absorption of 12,205 trees for 1 year. During the first half of the World Cup in Qatar (from 20 November until 6 December), over 900 electronic buses (e-buses) were used as tournament bus services (tbs) and as public transport, which carried over 4 million passengers.
