The Ministry of Interior announced during a press conference on 21 September 2022 the suspension of visit visa issuance during the FIFA World Cup period from 1 November 2022 and resume on 23 December 2022.

The ministry clarifies that only Hayya cardholders and other conditional categories will be allowed entry into Qatar during this time.

Hayya cardholders may stay in the country until 23 January 2022.

The categories exempted from the suspension:

• Citizens, residents, and Gulf nationals holding Qatari ID cards
• Holders of personal recruitment visas and work entry permits
• Humanitarian cases through the airport (in accordance with the approvals issued)
